Leukemia Walk

What a great day for a walk. Our school raised over $1,000 for Leukemia. Thank you all for supporting the fight for Leukemia.

Dance

Today is day one with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Co. We will be dancing to live music. Everyone was introduced to the instruments that our guest will be playing.

Little Friends

It was an exciting day with our little friends. We made BE KIND bells that will be hung around Lansing Park later this week. Please go take a peek this weekend with your child.

Geologists at Work

Today we preformed the streak test to identify the color of our minerals when ground down into a powder.

Science

Texture and smell was what we were observing today. Ask your child which mineral they think is sulfur and why?

Children worked together to find words in their book with the spelling patterns we've been studying.

Homecoming

It's Homecoming weekend! Each day this past week we've been visited by athletes to share their sports. On Friday we made a Homecoming necklace.

Creating a picture graph

Here you see children using unifix cubes to help them interpret a key that said, each symbol = 4 students. The task was to transfer a frequency table into a picture graph.

Marble Party

Great news! The kids earned their first marble party for excellent behavior both in and outside the classroom. They chose to play math games on the computer. Softschools.com was a big hit.

Multiplication cartons

Ms. Rasmussen made multiplication cartons that can be used with flash cards to help learn their facts. They started using them today. They also wrote her letter of thanks.

Jayna was in charge of going over the math homework. She did a marvelous job!

Geologists

Today as geologists we looked closely with our magnifying glasses at the color of 12 different minerals.

Apple A Day

Mr. Michael's joined us for our first Apple A Day lesson. We talked about what it means to have good self esteem.
